After completing the creation of our poster, we thought it would be best to get the opinion of our audience through another questionnaire. This is important to discover what the audience think of our poster and how the are portraying our film.
Question two asked the audience where they would expect to see a poster like ours. The responses given show that it is of a standard that would be suitable to go outside of a cinema, this got the most percentage of votes at 50%. This means 50% of voters believed that the poster was suitable for such a environment, this is i comparison to that of a billboard in which the poster would more than likely be wider, or in comparison to that of an online advertisement or website banner/column. This shows the standard and advertise-ability the poster has.
Question three of the poster analysis survey asked the audience what they specifically liked about the poster and what made it appealing and jump out to them. Above shows just a few of these views. Due to this being an open question we gained many opinions including "use of font and overall image and the manipulation of images". This quote suggests that the use of images and scenes shown within our rough cut of filming were used well and manipulated to create and effect that advertises and promotes our films ideas and genre. One other quote, "The design integrated with the right colours" suggesting that the colours within our poster also compliment its themes and genre, providing for a successful poster.
Question four asked the subjects what genre they thought the poster conveyed. This is important as it determined whether or not our film conveyed the correct views and advertised a thriller. From the results we see that around 25% of the respondents suggested this film was a thriller, this could be due to the uses of reds and the inclusion of a screaming girl, however 75% of the entire respondents showed a suggestion that the film could be a thriller, this is due to the limited horror like aspects and restriction on anything that seems out of the ordinary such as Sci-Fi or action. This shows that the films poster helps to successfully advertise its ideas and concepts well enough to promote its genre.
Overall the results show that the poster is of a high quality with the ability to advertise the film successfully and its themes without giving away the plot. It also shows the various parts included within the film such as the Polaroids which gives hints to the various aspects of the film.
